hard work and
dedication pays
Before they got
bitten by the Boer-goat bug about two years ago, Joy and Chuck Kimberl
kept a few horses
on their 20-acre farm in northern Oldham County, Kentucky.
Now home to approximately 100 head of
Boer goats, after starting out with just five, they've got everything
from great blood lines to meat goats. Plus they're dabbling in a little
dairy goat stock, too.
After much research, they settled on the Great Pyrenees dog
to guard their herd, and they said it's been the best move they've ever
made. "We were fortunate to find a wonderful female pup that had been
raised with goats. About six months later, we found our male," said
Chuck Kimberl.
"It's difficult to explain the dedication and hard work these wonderful
dogs provide. They are the greatest!
